In lower case, "crypto" is an abbreviation for the adjective "cryptographic", or for the nouns "cryptography" or "cryptographic component".
Deprecated Abbreviation: IDOCs SHOULD NOT use this abbreviation because it could easily be misunderstood in some technical sense.
